Just ran across your podcast and did a binge listen – wow kudos on such a fun & interesting podcast. You guys are such a wealth of MCU & DC knowledge! I hope you guys can help me understand some recent comments I read that were made by Joss Whedon re: AOS & the MCU. He stated that AOS has no connection whatsoever to the MCU. That Coulson is truly dead and that in no universe would Coulson actually be the director of SHIELD and in fact the entire series is actually a dream Coulson is having while in limbo before going to the afterlife which was to be revealed in the series finale but he thought he let people know as they keep asking about Coulson & the Avengers. Is this true? Is AOS pulling a Lost on its fans? It would seem so disrespectful of the show’s fan base to do this? Your thoughts?

From our understanding Joss Whedon is butt hurt about his breakup with Marvel. He stated that in “his” universe Coulson is dead. He was very upset that Marvel/ABC created the Agents of SHIELD show based on a character that he killed off. I don’t think they are pulling a LOST on us but I will say this; if we don’t see Coulson interact with the movie characters in any of the upcoming films that are minus Joss Whedon, I’d get worried. Right now his dream sequence theory can’t be disproved but if he were to show up in a movie that would put it to rest. I think Coulson’s absence from the films came directly from Whedon. He’s out of the way now so time will tell if that was the only obstacle or not. If we don’t see him by the end of Infinity War… That would put Agents of SHIELD at the 6 season mark (the same as LOST). UGH! Wish I would have seen this before we recorded the season finale of our podcast. Great topic of conversation.
